Dr. Guven has over 30 years of both private sector and academic experience on business and IT strategy, digital transformation and data driven solutions. His career began in academia in 1986 as an adjunct faculty and research associate at universities in Turkey and US, namely Ege University, San Diego State University and Penn State University. In 1992, he joined a global FMCG company, Philip Morris International, as IT analyst in Turkey. He then held various positions including Head of IT in Turkey and Poland, and more recently, Head of Enterprise IT architecture with global responsibility in Switzerland until 2009. During his career in the private sector, he developed data strategies, initiated and implemented digital transformations, data analytics, and business intelligence solutions, and managed the global technology lifecycle. Since 2010, he is back to academia teaching data analytics, data-driven decision making, databases, and acting as the department head of computer science and director of doctorate programs at International University in Geneva. Most recently, he developed a new Master program on Business Analytics which is launched as of September’2020 at IUG.
