International Symposium on Artificial Intelligence in Healthcare
7-8 February 2020  -  Ege University Faculty of Medicine 20 Mayıs Amphitheater

With the impressive advent in computer hardware capacities and the consequent big data processing capabilities attained, a rapid awareness has arisen on the potential of artificial intelligence to impact all scientific disciplines and industry fields. This awareness has led to the development of strategies for the use and dissemination of artificial intelligence in many domains. The field of health becomes prominent among the areas currently affected by artificial intelligence and with the potential to be influenced continually in the near future.

In recent years, beside the geometrical increase in scientific publications related to the implementations of artificial intelligence in healthcare, almost all global big data and artificial intelligence companies have focused on the medical field. Along with the driving force of imaging applications in the field of radiology, artificial intelligence finds opportunities of implementation in many branches of medicine due to different resources of medical data. Becoming increasingly more electronical, patient data increases the possibilities of the use of artificial intelligence in its analysis, enabling the development of crucial applications such as predicting the diagnosis or foreseeing re-admission. With the development and dissemination of new mobile medical sensors that will enable the collection of data directly from patients in the future, artificial intelligence might be expected to work in real time in critical areas like cardiology and obesity. These developments will bring previously unimaginable forms of medical technology applications into our lives.

The International Symposium on  Artificial Intelligence in Healthcare aims to create an information sharing and coordination environment for all stakeholders working on the adaptation of artificial intelligence science to the field of health. Another important objective of the symposium is to provide a platform for national researchers working in the field of artificial intelligence to interact with international networks. In this context, international participation is aimed through invited speakers and invited presentations.
